This increasingly popular internationally recognised certification course, from Planit, is now presented by The Testing Consultancy.

Intended For

Anyone who has a career focus that includes an aspect of software testing including; experienced software testers, test managers, QA and QC staff, software development team leads and managers, testers with 6 months experience, business analysts, project managers and quality managers.

Course Overview

This unique course provides trainees with the fundamental concepts, ideas, processes, tools and skills essential in order to set themselves on a path as a testing professional.

The course fully covers the latest International Software Testing Qualifications Board [ISTQB] Foundation Syllabus via a structured lecture and practical exercise format.

It provides the methodology behind a successful testing program and covers a wide range of issues, from those related to the individual tester to those of the testing department as a whole. The testing process is presented, both through theory and hands-on exercises.

Objectives

The objectives of the certification programme and of this course specifically are to provide students with an industry standardised testing vocabulary in conjunction with a set of good testing principles that can be used across a multitude of projects.

At the conclusion of the course, trainees will sit a one hour multiple choice exam.

This examination is set, moderated, marked and invigilated by ANZTB [Australia and New Zealand Test Board].

Prerequisites

An interest in software testing, a tenacious approach to problem solving and a sense of humour!

Note: This course is not recommended for those that are new to the Software Development Lifecycle.

Our Experience

Our fully accredited trainers will present a mixture of lectures, practical exercises and discussions. Trainees will receive practical knowledge to achieve certification from course material that has been accredited by ISTQB and the ANZTB.

Content

The course runs for three days, with the afternoon of the third day set aside for personal revision time and the ISTQB Foundation exam.

Software development models, Test types: the targets of testing;

Static techniques

Reviews and the test process;

Test design techniques

Identifying test conditions and designing test cases, categories of test design techniques;

Test organization, Test planning and estimation; incident or bug management;

Tool support for testing

Effective use of tools, potential benefits and risks, introducing a tool into an organization.
